Yuri: June 29, 2023. Two years, three months ago, to the day, the second shot changed my life, and not for the better. I have been vaccine injured and, since then, tried to work my way back to playing at the level I had attained throughout my life. I'm not there yet. I don't know if I will ever be but talk to my wife, Christina. She has a more optimistic POV.
Christina: Yuri is a phenomenal spirit, a genuine human being. When the nightmare began, there was a moment he believed he was ready to transition but decided to stay a while longer. He has work to do, poetry and songs to write, music to catalog, and organizing a body of work that spans a lifetime of music making.
The Back In The Day Collection covers fifty years and every aspect of Yuri Turchyn as a lifelong working musician. It's a work-in-progress and one that will encompass the philosophies, sights and sounds of many compadres in Yuri's music world as well as the friends and fans that follow him to this day.
Grateful for the love and support that has poured in, but the tough times are still around. It's always darkest before the dawn. The light still shines.
